Michael Allen Company celebrates its 30th Anniversary!

In 1979 Michael Allen founded and built a strategic management consulting firm, now with over 300 professionals and alumni. Michael Allen, a former McKinsey & Co. consultant and subsequent head of General Electric Corporate Planning, was one of the original thought leaders in the strategic management field that emerged in the early seventies. He helped to develop the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) organization, the strategic planning process, the strategic budgeting process and the nine-block grid for business portfolio evaluation and resource allocation.

The Michael Allen Company logo is a reference to the Nine-Block Growth Strategy Matrix he helped develop. And much of the firm's work has been in marketing and sales growth strategies across a broad spectrum of industries including financial services, consumer packaged goods, industrial products & services, and retailing.

Over the last decade, the Healthcare Strategy Practice has become the fastest growing portion of our business, focusing on sales and marketing assignments to leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and healthcare companies.

Today, Michael Allen Company has approximately 25 senior professional advisors, partners, associate partners, and consultants, most having decades of experience in strategic management in the world's leading enterprises.
