Michael Allen Company gave three presentations at this year's PMSA Annual Conference in Savannah.

  • Promotion Response Driven Resource Allocation
    Kevin Kirby & Irina Popova

    This workshop demonstrated how to increase return on promotional spend, using an Excel-based tool provided to enable "hands-on" participation.  The session also included discussion of common pitfalls to avoid when measuring promotion response that could lead to wasteful spending.

  • Using Physician-Level Managed Care Metrics to Improve Marketing and Sales Effectiveness

    Payer impact on physician prescribing is substantial and continues to increase.  Most brands know the overall impact, but very few have a complete understanding of the combined impact of formulary position and plan control on each physician.

    A comprehensive system of physician-specific managed care metrics was presented which enables marketing and sales to direct promotional efforts to the best physicians for the best results.

  • Are Pharmaceuticals Immune from the Recession?  A Macroeconomic Impact Analysis
    David Martin & Irina Popova

    The most severe and protracted recession since the Great Depression is not yet over.  Conventional wisdom states that pharmaceutical sales are recession-proof, but the drastic changes in unemployment and the duration of the economic meltdown force us to reconsider convention.

    This presentation highlights a new analytic approach and reports surprising findings from our recent work.
